Larix (Joel,Dustin,Lloyd) were great. The work was completed, despite emergencies due to weather conditions. The end results met our needs and criteria. After completion, there were a couple of issues and the team was happy to come back and resolve. Overall, they were great and delivered on what was promised with a few recommendations that we requested for upcoming projects.
I have been watching Dustin and Lloyd work on our neighbours' perimeter drains for a few weeks now, and it became clear very early on that they were skilled and professional at their job. They worked methodically and steadily at what proved to be a very difficult task, given the mistakes that had been made over the previous years. In the end, they did an absolutely beautiful job and restored the property to pristine shape. It was a pleasure to get to know them a little and to see what pride they put into their work.
I hired Larix to complete perimeter drainage work on my property, which included an additional-charge installation of a backflow valve. Over the course of the project, several issues occurred that significantly impacted my property and the overall experience.During excavation, the crew struck a water line. This caused flooding throughout the entire ground level of my house. As a result, I had no choice but to file a property insurance claim. The incident led to a substantial deductible, the loss of my no-claim discount, and several months of disruption while restoration and repairs were completed. The process was stressful, time-consuming, and costly.In addition to the flooding incident, the municipal plumbing inspection did not pass the backflow valve installation as it should not have been installed with my system configuration. This was particularly frustrating because the backflow was on the quotation and billed on the invoice even it was not be appropriate for my system. Had I been this in advance, I would never have agreed to pay extra for a device that was incapable of functioning as intended.In light of these major issues, I no longer have confidence in Larix’s ability to competently handle drainage work.
After the first contractor that I had given the job to didn’t show up or even have the decency to call & let me now he wasn’t doing the job, I then contacted Joel from Larix. Joel showed up the very next day & looked at our project. He worked with us to make it work for our budget. He gave me a very reasonable price. They started within the time line they said they would. Joel sent out Dustin & Loyd. Great guys to deal with. They had good equipment and are hard workers & anything I asked for they accommodated me. At times they went above and beyond. We had an issue with the rock wall but Joel sorted it out and finished the job off as he said he would. I would highly recommend Larix Landscaping to do any landscaping job you need done.
The whole crew from Joel on down was very pleasant to work with. Every project was completed on time and exactly as quoted. I would not hesitate to hire this company again. My wife and I are extremely happy with the quality of work. The price was very fair as well.
